I don't actually believe that. But let's assume there are a handful who have never eaten an apple. They've seen apples. They've seen them in the store at the very least and they've seen images of them. Even those kids have most likely eaten apple sauce.
They have some experience with them. They should be able to recall these memories and at the very least be able to construct the mental image of an apple.

I agree with you btw. It is hard to imagine a lack of imagination or inability to describe something...until you meet a lot of people (thousands)
Then you start to realize what “average” means.
