I don't actually believe that. But let's assume there are a handful who have never eaten an apple. They've seen apples. They've seen them in the store at the very least and they've seen images of them. Even those kids have most likely eaten apple sauce.
They have some experience with them. They should be able to recall these memories and at the very least be able to construct the mental image of an apple.
There was this thread on 4chan, about a school assignment: « imagine an apple ».
Most answers were: « I don’t see anything », others were just « the word "apple" written ».
Very few see the shape, the color, the taste, feel the smell or even hear the sound it makes when bitten.

I was really just being facetious...thinking about the packaged food, fast food, Oscar Meyer lunchables crowd.
I agree with you btw. It is hard to imagine a lack of imagination or inability to describe something...until you meet a lot of people (thousands)
Then you start to realize what “average” means.
