From the article, it says it was from a suicide prevention center who learned it from an internet chat room. They don't know the author, supposedly because the author was using a VPN. Since this happened last night, this could theoretically be true since the subpoena to the VPN provider would take time. But it's still BS.
Most reputable VPN providers intentionally do not keep logs of IPs accessing their network. This is a common feature of VPN providers that they advertise (assuring anonymity).
Subpoenaing the VPN company will probably turn up nothing.
