It doesn't start until after the election. In other words it doesn't start at all.
This.
It's just s PR good will play for botes they have no intention of implementing
I paid mine off while making less than $20k
I was told if you stop making payments on the Guaranteed Student Loan you would get one phone call, and if you ignored it, that it would be forgiven and nothing would happen to your credit rating.
I don't know if that was true, but I just kept up with the payments until it was done.
So this was in the late 1980's.
I paid mine off hauling junk and never made more than the $100 min payment each month out of what I made working hourly at a job that wasn't what I went to school for.
IIRC you can be forgiven after 10? 11? Years of non payment.
That's completely relevant to today.
I paid mine off in 2 years because I chose an affordable city to study, chose a degree with high paying job prospects, and lived like a hobo throughout college. Jokes on me, I could have lived in a fancy apartment, ate sushi twice a week, and you fuckers would have paid for it.
You realize the loans are taken out from the department of education, so Republicans pushing for abolishing the DOE are asking for 100% forgiveness.
Only funny cuz it's true
I worked to pay my tuition. It took me 9 years to get a 4 year degree, but I did it debt free.
students that can't get a job because the degree they have is totally useless should be able to sue the college. Enough of this nonsense of brainwashing and then demanding that the rest of the country pay the cost.
