A "cure" for a made up ailment. Created out of thin air by none other than Big Pharma. They call it "psychic tension". Brought to you by the same people that polluted the world with Oxycontin.

"According to his Medical Advertising Hall of Fame entry, Arthur was an “advocate for the full-blown marketing programs (field force plus multimedia promotional activities) employed today.” In other words, he used any means possible to get doctors to prescribe drugs that his company promoted, no matter how suspect the patients’ medical conditions were. He marketed the Hoffmann-La Roche drugs Librium for “anxiety” and Valium for “psychic tension.” With the help of Arthur’s aggressive marketing campaigns, Valium became the first $100-million drug, then the first $1-billion drug. That Valium is highly addictive didn’t seem to matter."
Many years ago, I was prescribed Valium to help me sleep during an illness. When that illness ended, I stopped taking the Valium with no problem. I guess I have more willpower than usual.
I was prescribed an Oxy- drug after a surgery, and it was fabulous, and I said to myself, no wonder people are addicted to this, and then I quit taking it. I'd assume many people here have more willpower than most.
I tried some, and it didn't touch my pain, so I never took it again. Perhaps I'm immune. :)
Decades ago I was prescribed vallium for backache but the doc said only for a week. He was a good doc.
