Maybe. I think it has more to do with the indoctrination they receive in order to become a part of the mockingbird media. That is, any intellectual curiosity is shunned when it doesn't comport with the narrative. Eventually, all intellectual curiosity dies off and the so-called "journalist" is nothing more than an overpaid stenographer.
