That is quite an exaggeration. No religion was to be placed before the party. But there were sufficient party members who were Christians.

Of course they were no true Scotsman, right?

But I guess emotion in film is more appealing than actually reading reports, policy choices, etc.

In terms of the moral high.ground. let's watch untill the only way out is either subordinate to their system or die.
