Dick Clark was the closest comparison in the US that can be made to Savile, yet Savile was still 100x bigger in UK than Clark was in the US. Savile was omnipresent on British TV for decades.

No, Dick didn't dance with the President in the same the way Jimmy jammed with Prince. One (Dick Beatles) seemed wholesome and the other (Saville Stones) took 'their satanic majesty's requests'. I see it as intentional dualism.
