I’ll tell you what drives me nuts. Our government flying the flag half mast for anything now. That change occurred on 9/11 and many folks were against it. Now the flags fly half mast for some foreign faggot in Spain that died of GayPox.
So, yes, please adhere to Banjo’s warning. Slippery slopes are real and sacred spaces must be protected.
Legit question: under what circumstances was it appropriate to fly the flag at half mast prior to 9/11? Was that only a wartime thing?
Asking because I was born less than 5 years before 9/11, so I have few if any memories of a time before that (don’t even really remember the actual event).
Annual-
Memorial Day, Patriots Day, Pearl Harbor Day, Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Firefighters Day
Deaths-
For current and former presidents, a 30-day observation is customary, while the flag is lowered for 10 days following the death of a vice president, current or retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court or House Speaker. For some other officials, the display lasts from the day of death to the day of interment, while others are honored on the day of death and the following day.
