I like the idea of it being a squishy egg and since you're right about this kind of stuff being fun to look into, I will check out your links. I feel like theres too much FE stuff to overcome but I'll keep an open mind.
The Inner Earth theory is believable and can actually fit the FE theory... what if Byrd assumed he was entering an inner-earth once past the ice wall because he was required to descend miles below the other side of the ice wall before he seen land. Could the wall be 10x higher on the other side making it seem like you're entering the core of the earth but in-fact you are just entering the next ring of Atlantis!
