Yeah I'm not saying we understand everything about the firmament, especially at the time of the Earth's creation, but it doesn't imply dome afaik.

The firmament may have been much more "solid" (perhaps pre fall). Who know what kind of effect that had on climate, magnetic field, gamma rays, etc? I trust scripture above our current understandings, I just don't think it implies FE.
