Yerba mate is my drink of choice. So many health benefits, and doesn’t seems as addictive or give me the jitters like coffee. Been drinking it for 20 plus year.
Run it through a reusable cloth filter like the Puerto Ricans. They call it el colador, though that name also applies to mesh metal strainers.

You need your grinds to be a but more coarse for that, but yeah I own one. I use it more for tea and Yerba mate

I go in phases with it. Drink it daily, then forget about it for months. Gotta get back to it.
Also works as a cold brew press if steeped overnight. They make larger presses for this reason and it's my preferred method.
