That's not math working out. That's a human making the math work out:

Q: Why was 888 added to one other 888? Why not 88, or 88 + 888, or 88 + 88 + 88, or 888 + 888 + 888?

A: Human choice. The two 888s were chosen specifically because they produce the PRECONCEIVED DESIRED RESULT in the mind of the human manipulating the numbers. None of the other combos did.
