You are on the money with Sign Language itself being indicative itself of Comms. Helen Keller herself being a Comms vehicle. Hate to to crash the Clown World illusion for anyone but, given what we know now about child development, the facts of Keller simply do not add up. A baby/todder who goes a MONTH without a form of communication is dealt a severe handicap, let alone YEARS. They do not turn into award winning tier literary writers later in life. The damage is that severe. The father was rich, newspapers were how Comms were spread.
