Agreed. Soon as he started digging in that bag I'm preparing to unholster, not just "watching". Few to the chest would have ended that. But no...people didn't even feel the need to flee the scene.
What makes you think he was the bad guy? He stood there and took a good beating before he went into his bag. The moment he did, 6 against 1 became a fair battle.
He started shit before they hit him, then they teed off (like assholes), and then the axe came out. He was not a "good guy" if he had a hatchet in his bag and then deployed it.
No doubt - some extra large dude with a hatchet, obviously crazy and/or on drugs, and starts threatening and swinging - I'm outta there if unarmed.
The moment he went for that backpack I was thinking about everything nearby that could be used as a weapon. Wondering if I'd have a gun or maybe just my knife etc. I went into full blown kill or be killed mode. Probably bad for my high blood pressure. Even in NY guys like that will fuck around and find out sooner rather than later. He will end up just another black on black statistic in no time.
I'm kind of wondering WTF they were arguing about in the first place?
My thought process exactly. They just watched him rummage through the bag.
