On this date in 1940, Polish intel officer Witold Pilecki volunteered to be captured and sent to Auschwitz in order to gain information on the camps. He escaped in 1943. Years later he was captured and executed after the war for running anti-communist networks. HE GAVE HIS ALL. (Let's roll.)

Total bs. If you read the alleged "background" of this individual, it reads just like the "Ghost of Kyiv" story. The "facts" of this story don't mesh with historical truth.
