I tend to agree but that also robs us of extended product warranties from some credit cards. Those can sometimes give you 3 more years of protection.
I think the real answer here is to force the credit card companies to abide by the same crap they force industry to abide by - PCI. See this article.
That should be backed up with Federal and State legislation. Texas could probably write something up (Ken Paxton could in his sleep) that says any credit card company, bank, or payment app that singles out gun purchases using MCCs like they are trying to do will be fined massively, and/or banned in the state. Then other states will follow, and instantly they face losing out on a TON of revenue. Paxton could loosely model that from his recent social media law.
