Popular meds work no better than a placebo for depression and can come with severe withdrawal symptoms. Why do doctors prescribe them to 43 million Americans?

It's like all the drugs they put out; they cause side effects so more drugs are prescribed for the side effects, and so on and on.

Yup, you got to pay to play. The same goes for ADD and ADHD meds. Extra serotonin feels great at first, then you need more and more. Then you try to stop and you wish you were dead.

They had me on Ritalin as a teenager. Some sort of angel came to me and told me to stop, so I did. Haven't looked back.

I had a similar experience when I stopped using. An angel extended their hand to me and said it was time. I reached my hand up to hers, and that was it. Cold turkey.

How can I do it? I want off them so bad. I regret even putting them in my body but at the time it felt necessary. Now I’m suffering withdrawals just trying to slow down or wean. How can I get through this? I’m starting to hate my meds.
