HEY! I know that place.
Believe it or not... that area at Lake Quivira (with network of underground scuba tunnels) is just a mile or so from a main entrance to the underground Limestone Storage Cave network for Kansas City. The scuba caves they are talking about would be all limestone too. That water is crystal clear.
The Limestone Storage Caves are the nuclear fallout shelter for the Kansas City Kansas area... in addition to storing miles upon miles of underground warehouses of refrigerated goods (lots of dairy storage, including gov't cheese and butter), huge underground food warehouses, electronics warehouses and all sorts of storage. Those caves are sized so 18-wheelers can pass each other in the tunnels and can turn around at hubs within the caves. Some of them go down 6 stories or more underground.
Lake Quivira is actually a really nice private-security subdivision. It's located on the South side of the Kansas River Valley just West of Kansas City, Ks. Nice schools, clean surroundings and almost zero crime.
thanks h2o.
