Everything is so over the top nowadays. They are now calling fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction.
That phrase wasn't the best used to describe nuc and chem weapons, which are truly indiscriminate in the area deployed. It means nothing if applied to everything dangerous.
Isn't an AK or AR also a "weapon of mass destruction" at this point??
They just can't stand it that we no longer buy into their weapons of mass deception.
That's really the meaning of the phrase!
over saturating a term...literally" waters down" the meaning..same as the term "Nazi"....they are losing
This is so true. Once you find out, everything changes forever.
The propaganda has always been this intense. You just never noticed before. They never changed at all. We did.
They definitely dialed it up 10 notches since Trump got on the scene. the 90s / early 2000s did not feel like being bombarded with bullshit 24/7.
It was. You just didn't know it. It's been nothing but lies for longer than most of us have been alive. It just used to be TV and Newspapers. But it's always been propaganda. Go back to the Civil War and read some of those old newspapers. Nothing but propaganda.
"Yellow Journalism". We all learned that term in HS History. Or at least we should have. It is just propaganda by another name.
Spin is another term that relates to propaganda. Much more modern term but same meaning.
You want a master class in propaganda? Just look at the rise and fall in the publics opinion at the time of Joe McCarthys investigations and what has subsequently been written and taught in our schools.
Another is the NYTs coverage of the Holodomor.
Journalism is was and has always been more propaganda than "news". In fact unbiased journalism has never existed.
I agree there has always been propaganda. But it used to be more subtle. Now it's just over the top clown world on a daily basis.
Isn't that how we all started. You hear something or someone tells you something and you are 'What utter nonsense are you bonkers? Where is your tinfoil hat?'
Then you start thinking about it and then...
Still trying to decode the "full screen" button on the lower right...
Hmmmm, what could it mean???? Hmmmmmm
EXACTLY!!!!!
Id add: Once youve seen it, you see it everywhere, in everything.
