I appreciate the knowledge, though. And I studied and read enough to know that it depends on whom and from what vantage point the history was written by. I mean, you reading the Federalist Papers or Carl Marx, you know? So the background info stored in my brain is personally meaningful to me for engaging in the bullshit information war we face in today's world, and to discuss deep subjects with my kids...

But giving me authority in a public argument, or springboarding me into some kind of career? Nope, in those cases the history degree means dick.
