I think that was perhaps one of the plans for L.A. when the military did an operation there and removed something. It was a building scheduled for demolition within a week, if I recall correctly.

It’s very much like those types of movies/books/video games where a serious catastrophic threat to the public is neutralized by the end, saving the day. But the general public is none the wiser to the entire threat.
