It’s Been an Honor

As we move into the next stage of this I just want to say how much I appreciate this community.
I don’t agree with a lot of what gets said here.
I don’t like some of the attitudes and philosophies that dominate the discussion.
I think we’re far too much like those we profess to be fighting against.
But I love having a place to come and fight the good fight, share my thoughts, opinions, and information, and feel that I’m doing what I can to stop this slide into hell we’ve started down.
God bless y’all, and good luck as we get closer and closer to peering over the precipice.
Well, keep in mind that our nation's founders were diverse with all sorts of beliefs, yet they all desired the rule of law and liberty from oppression and control.
Their debates and committees were fraught with loud arguments, storming out in anger, and many livid conversations on the street. All of these different founders, with different levels of morality (for that time), religions, and various political leanings and policies.
But they stuck together and through the divine guidance from Heavenly Father, they were able to come together on the platforms of God-given freedom/free agency, right to bear arms, right to free speech, freedom of religion (not freedom from religion) and the rule of law based upon John Locke's inspired writings on law.
We have the same thing happening here. Many beliefs that others don't share, but we all understand the freedom of America. The one and only place where true liberty has survived. And it will continue to survive because THIS is the real promised land, set aside for this time, for these citizens for such a time as this when true patriots were needed once more. And we have a man who undoubtedly, is aware of God's influence upon good leaders.
Well said.
I would only add that it wasn’t nearly as diverse as some would have us believe. On Two Wings is a good reference.
True, I was trying to get across that their opinions and ideas about government were very diverse, which is what caused all the arguing. We have a tradition of vigorous debate and we should always welcome that no matter what the person is spouting. People have a right to free speech but we have a right to not listen if we don't want to. There is no rule that guarantees your speech will be heard, just that you can say it.
