"Ex-FBI Agents" - not current agents. Nothing to lose, so trying to save their own reputations. FBI needs to be scattered to the winds. They were never the good guys.

Even if they were current FBI agents it would shatter the idea that "most are good it's just a few corrupt ones", since 30 is such a tiny fraction of the FBI.
