I can't remember if that was before the "black is beautiful" mantra? Which would be a candidate for #4 on your list.

Good point. I think it came right in the awkward transition after the empowering "Black is Beautiful" message but before the less empowering yet more lucrative "all blacks are oppressed and need reparations" Jesse Jackson days.
