IF it was recorded as him saying it, you would not have read it in the bible at all.

What you can read however, are references to it, or the preparation for it.

For instance, the lords prayer. Putting yourself on the spot to let God provide you with the food for your day. You do not do that. You are working your ass off.

consider the birds of heaven: they neither sow or reap, yet none drops to the floor dead or you father in heaven knows it.

consider the lilies of the field, clothed beautifully without sowing or reaping.

Fruit of the spirit: love, peace, joy. The other ones are designations of behavior flowing from the first three. Your soul-state.

Once you can read through the clutter ..... it becomes quite amazingly monotonous when you start to compare several traditions.
