Thank you. And I agree, it is indeed a sign of literalist mindset. I also noted that questions for further elaboration are downvoted.

Considering these responses, it becomes clear that awakening is a progressive thing. That is why it is rendered with the -ing suffix as in present continuous. Certain people are still in the early stages.

But that is ok.
