I think when they pulled Dilbert from 71 newspapers, people softened.
It might be wise in an information war to start to look at these different pundits, at their various levels, as the thought leaders of those who think like them. Adams represents a sort of moderate liberal conservative atheist pot-smoking libertarian type that could value Trump and the populist-nationalist movement. But these guys have a weakness, which is they overvalue the authority of science, failing to see that the scientific method and science as it is practiced as fallible humans is two different things. They don’t see the politicization of science, the financial grift of science, the corporate marketing of science, or the religion of science.
Adams was brave to make a stand with Trump. He went after the Fine People Hoax possibly harder than anybody. That’s a bold move for a guy with a syndicated comic strip. But then when it came to Covid, that media hysteria he couldn’t call out because it would have meant a betrayal of his faith in science.
There must be millions of people like Adams who are still our allies in freedom of speech and so maybe Adams is himself on a red-pilling journey with his audience. Like for example, has Adams been asked about who did 9/11? Would he agree with the official narrative? There are probably many people who do and they are still good people. They are just at a different stage of The Great Awakening. Tucker Carlson is like this too, although I think he knows more than the persona he plays on TV.
Holy shit Scott, I liked it better when you could keep your points tidy in 3 panels
