I too, was a registered Dem married to a Repub who always said that I was a Conservative but didn't know it. I switched to voting all Rs after 2015. I've since become a rabid conservative, way stronger than my spouse who's been one for most of his adult life!

The best Rs may be the converted ones! At least if I am any example.
