In 1888, Heinz bought out his two partners and reorganized the company as the H. J. Heinz Company. Its slogan, "57 varieties", was introduced by Heinz in 1896. Inspired by an advertisement he saw while riding an elevated train in New York City (a shoe store boasting "21 styles"), Heinz picked the number more or less at random because he liked the sound of it, selecting "7" specifically because, as he put it, of the "psychological influence of that figure and of its enduring significance to people of all ages."[3]

1888? That's the same year as the Sunflower painting.

Sunflowers are also associated with nuclear disarming. Throwing canned soup on them could also be a comm about nukes.

He made seven versions of the artwork, and he saw yellow as an emblem of happiness. In Dutch literature, the sunflower symbolises loyalty. The image of their decay also reflects the cycle of life and death.

The same year Van Gogh created Sunflowers, he cut off his ear and took it to the local brothel where he tried to give it to one of the sex workers.

Climate activists in London went full-on Warhol on Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” (1888) at the National Gallery this morning, covering it in Heinz tomato soup. The two activists, members of the group Just Stop Oil, then glued their hands to the wall below the painting, which is behind protective glass.

But why tomato soup? Did the activists confuse Van Gogh with Andy Warhol? If so, it’s worth reminding everyone that Warhol had ties to the Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, a dictator and an oil mogul. Warhol also made a portrait of the Shah’s wife, Empress Farah Pahlavi, just three years before the couple was overthrown in 1979.

So tomato soup ties to Warhol. I've seen tons of comms about Warhol.
