I grew up in the Detroit area. In the 70s and 80s, Dearborn was ridiculed for "discouraging" anyone who wasnt a white Christian from living there.
And living here most of my life, I have never seen a street sign in Arabic. Anywhere, ever. I was just at Divine Child for a funeral. No Arabic except on store fronts. My cousin is a 3 term City Councilman in Dearborn. He is a white Catholic. My brother works at Ford World HQ in Dearborn.
Oh yea, for sure. It wasnt always that way though. I had a buddy that lived on Outer Drive just south of Ford Road. Never saw an arab there or near there growing up in the 70s.
Not possible you say? Think again! Welcome to Dearborn, Michigan.
Steve Tarani , author and speaker recounts what he saw when he rode with a member of the Detroit Metro SWAT Police as they drove around Detroit and into Dearborn:
The street signs suddenly went from English to Arabic. There wasnt a single English word on any shop or any street sign. And in fact, these little yellow signs were posted all along the edges. Jeremy said to me, this is it. We dont go past this line. And I said to Jeremy, what do you mean? You guys are Detroit Metro. Youre the SWAT team. You can go anywhere you want. What if you get a call over there? He said this is it, its hazardous for our team if we go past this line.
This is a lie. People like to make up stupid shit about Dearborn because they irrationally hate people who’ve never done anything to them. Drive down Ford Rd if you’re in the area. Arab meat markets (best quality and best priced meat around!) next to Starbucks and Tropical Smoothie, on Michigan Avenue there’s Mediterranean cuisine next to Bar Louie and cigar shops. It’s a great place. East Dearborn is certainly more ethnic because that’s where the most recent immigrants/more traditional Muslims settle. The rest of Dearborn/Dearborn Heights is a fantastic mix of people and places (for the most part, every area has its pitfalls!)
Bro I lived there half my life I know what it is. Maybe your experience is different. Painting it as a an amalgamation of ethnic harmony and lil hiccups was not my experience. At the public pools ( hemlock park) girls were groped or harassed by mob of boys, if there was a fight in high school (Fordson) or middle school (lowery) would be many against one. It’s mob justice that was my experience I’m happy you love it there. look at this school board meeting, look at the u of m satellite campus same shit.
You have arabic on store fronts, you lost.
Just because people in the 80s tried to stay white, doesn't mean shit when you have people who have 10+ kids with their 3 wives.
There are racist af towns that had KKK members as mayors, and even they have been forced to take on illegals and "Immigrants"

You need to take a cruise thru Dearborn Heights...all Arabic, all the time. I'm sure you know that, though.
