I've seen some of these parents interviewed and they said their child was threatening to kill themselves if the parents wouldn't let them do the transition drugs. Some of them said their children had already attempted suicide and they didn't know what else to do but allow them, as it was better than having them dead.
I think it would be absolutely heartbreaking and an awful situation, no matter what.
A buddy of mine who lives a few houses down has a 14 year old son who is going through this right now. He and I get beers and talk every other week and he is at a complete loss of what to do. The kid has tried to kill himself a few times, most recently he wrecked his car on the highway and is now in a wheelchair while learning how to use his legs again. The parents were adamant that the kid not transition until he was 18 and could make it his own decision but now they're wondering what to even do.
It's a hard, hard situation. He has four other kids that are all honor students and off to college, one is at Harvard. All of the other kids support the parents, but are urging them to just let the kid do what he wants so he doesn't end his life. I'm very much opposed but even I'm telling him it might be a lost cause at this point.

The Trans community encourages them to use suicide to convince their parents, I believe.
Do you believe or have evidence of this?
Ego. They want the respect and ass-kissing of their community more than the health and wellbeing of their children.
