My great room TV is a Samsung 75" which is where most of my viewing occurs. Still no availability of Rumble which is the only reason I still watch anything on YouTube. I want to do my part in crushing the Commie Cabal. Willing to spend the $30 - $50 it will take to send YouTube to the grave in my home but thought I would ask here first since many are in the same boat.

I would buy a Roku stick or Apple TV that will get access to Rumble. Your TV may not have the app and if it’s old they won’t ever add it.
Roku device is what I was going to add. TV is fairly new and only got Samsung since I got them to give me 90% credit on old one that died outside of warranty period. When I bought the first one it was the only thing available except TV's that were all $1000 more.
Never would have spent a single dime on anything Apple except had a granddaughter we were raising. She is on her own now and hates the broken phone screens and high cost but will learn soon.
I prefer a Roku over my new smart 4k TV. Get the $99 model. It's very fast, intuitive, and simple.
We have the $29 Roku box on the other Samsung TV and have a TV with the built in Roku. To be honest I love the ONN 55" Roku TV that I got from Walmart for $200 (Open Box but know the process for Open Box at Walmart). I am now a big fan of Walmart's ONN brand with Roku and highly recommend them.
Don't know what kind of safety I am looking for in a TV.
Can't imagine Google being safer than any other technology out there because anything that doesn't burst into flames is equal.
Thought about Firestick and love the term "Jail Break" but hear you can get 100 years in the DC Gulag for that.
Make sure to download a vpn on the fire stick so they don’t know your location. Several u tube vids about jail breaking and installing a vpn. Watch one b4 you buy a fire stick.
Yes, I have seen tons of videos on that. It would be a shame if the Elite Cabal didn't get their blood money.
So where do we find how to de-smart a tv...? If rather the tv be dumb and have a separate device whose internet access I can control, dummy or guest internet account, firewalled off etc
A VPN will wall off the TV police. You can search it on any of the video sites.
True, we do have one but we do need to upgrade to something more robust. We're not in a crowded enough environment
Easiest way is don't hook it up to Wi-Fi. And if you want to stream, you build your own box (or buy something else) and connect via HDMI.
Yep, that's what we have done so far. It's just annoying and unnerving to have the TV clearly trying to do things in the background... Time is right for an open source tv.
If you have an old PC or laptop sitting around collecting dust, there's a good chance you can clean it up and install Linux on it and use it to push content to your TV.
Android TV x86 is another option.

You can also check on eBay and buy a used Roku for $30-$50 if you look around. People sell them when they upgrade to something better.
