I remember when this lab opened. I lived in Boston for many years, and when they were TALKING about opening this Bio 4 lab I was like "who the HELL opens a BIO 4 LAB IN the DOWNTOWN of a CITY!??" But it was full-steam ahead.
So that's great - good to know they are still doing Gain of Function work.
Oh...but remember when the LAB WAS SHUT DOWN DUE TO SAFETY LAPSE!?? NO? Well...let me refresh your memories...
And here's a good article on how the CDC lab in Atlanta has had NUMEROUS safety failures and how the OMITTED this information when requested by oversight committees:
