It does. Husband’s cousin and wife were/are conservative (he died 3 years ago.) she is the daughter of a Cuban refugee. Their oldest came out as gay as an adult and then then transitioned to male. The liberal grandparents who were very close with the girl got involved and supported her surgery decision even when parents didn’t. The family got torn apart for a while. It was only the father dying of cancer that brought them all back together. Close, Catholic family. Lovely people.
Looking back - she went to a liberal college, worked at traditionally liberal corporations.
It doesn't affect the children of conservatives. As in, actual children. Under 12 years old. Those kids, unless they're substantially raised by a liberal relative, teacher, etc. are not even thinking about being "trans."
However, after 12 is when kids enter their rebellious phase. This is when the children of liberal often become very conservative and resent their parents for making them "transition" or take puberty blockers.
This is also when the children of conservative parents start to rebel against their parents, and seek out alternative lifestyles.
In the past, this meant getting tattoos and piercings and shit. Stuff that's permanent, but really not a huge deal. But nowadays, they find this tranny shit and start doing it, and it has serious, lasting medical effects. It's no different than taking drugs to rebel against your parents (because it literally is), except it's possibly worse, especially since you have society's support.
In both cases, the vast majority will eventually grow out of it. The children of liberals will grow to resent their parents for forcing them to do these things. The children of conservatives will grow to appreciate their parent's wisdom, even though they didn't understand it in their younger years.
I'd wager it affects the children of conservatives too, they're just too afraid of the consequences to mention it to mom and dad.

It does. First hand experience.
