Saw a lady in the grocery store with a mask AND a plastic face shield.
She looked utterly ridiculous! As I was deciding which flavor of chips I needed, she walked passed and I made a comment…”Terrible thing to live in fear”.
That's the right approach. She's obviously not afraid of ridicule. But too afraid of everything else ...
I generally don't talk to them at all. But once or twice it happens, and I tell them "unless you wear a mask your whole life, the time will come when one day you decide to stop being afraid. The only question is when."
