Youngkin makes perfect sense. He presents well, and played all the right notes for the governor’s race. I can absolutely see him being groomed for 2024.
He was definitely better than McAuliffe, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think he’s trustworthy. He’s definitely not MAGA.
He has ties to one of the private equity companies — Carlyle Group — where he worked for nearly 30 years, and I believe he was a president or CEO there. Carlyle Grp is very cozy with many of the establishment RINOS and Dems.
He’ll play well with the normies and never Trumpers who are only voting republican this year because of crime and the economy.
