I agree. It wasn't a "lockdown" in the US compared to what we heard from Aussie anons and what they went through. In the US it was more of a lockout, orchestrated by businesses at the behest of the CDC.
Edit: different US states handled it their own way, some more draconian than others.
Just because they were not able to accomplish that level of lockdow doesn't mean that they were not trying to. I passes through states where no one was out except for "essential services... it was strange .. like a winter storm emergency when roads are only open to emergency personnel and snow removal...
The only reason the US was not as rough is because, people kept calling out the BS, suing and we had enough saying HELL NO, that goes against our constitutional rights, GFY. A handful of states "got away with it" more than others and another few states were NOPE, the entire time.
