I don’t care or need to know the gender of the people he’s talking about, so you’re correct that it doesn’t matter to the story. But that’s not the issue we’re suddenly dealing with in 2022.
The issue, as I explained, is that the Left is actively pushing an agenda to change things in our language to suit their agendas. One of those things is a push for non-gendered language. Why in the world would logical, normal people go along with this, allowing it to succeed?
I’m 55 and never in my life, until a couple years ago, did this asinine concept exist of saying “they, them” (plural) to describe a singular person. Are you, yourself a singular person, or are you a they?
Ugh. We have a couple they/thems in our fire academy this session that I’m teaching. My tongue is bloody raw from having to bite it and not say something that will trigga’ they.

Exactly. It’s not the preference for genderless words that’s the most annoying, it’s the confusion of plural for singular.
