If you sign up for any VPN service you are wasting your money and creating a false sense of protection. Make one. You can get a VPS for under 20 bucks for the entire year. Build a VPN tunnel to it, adjust routing so all your traffic traverses the tunnel. In my case I have a specific vlan and wifi SSID that only go over the tunnel, anything on the other networks just goes straight from my internet.
I also use PIA, works great. If you have difficulty getting to a site, just change vpn location for example, change from New York to Washington. I rarely have to do that, and PIA is inexpensive compared to some others.
NORD was good for a year but then it kept signing me out and shutting itself off. Is that a feature or a bug? Thinking about express.. i miss my old dev mode gps spoofer paired with a vpn.. new phone's dev mode doesn't have the spoof.. have to download an app.. like i'd trust that
Well if I were an evil cabal with infinite pockets, I would definitely want to own/control all the VPN businesses. Because the data I would be most interested in would be from people that wanted to hide their traffic.
So I don't trust any VPN service. But I think everything I do is watched anyway.
I've had the opposite experience of PelosiStock. NORD was great for the 3 years I had it but when the subscription ran out, I switched to VirtualShield. (You're welcome Dave)
I've experienced VS shutting down and not automatically reconnecting which is annoying.
I wish I was savvy enough to do what LetUsReason suggests.
PRISM is what you need to worry about, regarding protecting your online activity. I don't think Pyramid is a thing, I was just mixing up the similar P words.
Prism is the thing to investigate then. For a quick start I went with a VPN service s8nce I am not a big player. But will be looking to get for real soon.
So there's the movie by the guy who made "JFK", I think it's just called "Snowden", which if you want the easy, candy-coated Hollywoodified version to start off with, isn't terrible. Some people diss on the practice, but I think it's fine to use some candy to ease your brain into doing the independent research and the hard study on some big, complicated practice. You just have to actually move on to the main course and not make your entire meal candy.
I mention the movie JFK so you will be prepared for a slick production with some fun turns by recognized actors (the highlight is Nicolas Cage as a CompSci professor) that gives you a basic overview of the agreed upon facts, what happened, but then just kind of makes up the bit where the characters explain how it happened.
Jury is still out on Snowden, but that doesn't mean what he released should be ignored. Oliver stone is also known for twisting the truth to make his movies more entertaining. Again, not to ignore the truths he does include in these dramas.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. He takes some real liberties, and his films should always be seen as entertainment first and education only tangentially, but it can be hard to argue with his sense of pacing. Except for W, but I almost forgive that since the film was itself about floundering into lame duck mediocrity. Almost.
i use ExpressVPN and have liked it so far
Surfshark
I use NORDVpn and like their tools, seems pretty advanced, but don't expect VPNs to protect you from anything other than your ISP
thanks mods, for watching out for this thread.

I guess I would have to look into this tunnel thing.
I use 2. Private Internet Access (PIA) and ProtonVPN. I like both. Truth social doesn't allow ProtonVPN, so that may be a consideration for you.

I use IP Vanish. Seems pretty good. No log (so they say)

I'm using Nord on all my devices

Remember that a commercial VPN does not shield you from Pyramid.
need to hear more on pyramid now.
I'M SO SORRY I MEANT PRISM
