Musk wants to take Twitter private BUT a pause on trading of shares/temporary removal from a stock exchange is procedure for big buyouts/anything of scale.

See: when pharmaceutical companies are bought, leadership of the company being bought/the buyer can’t touch their shares within a certain timeframe of the deal going through due to insider trading laws.
