LinkedIn had speakeasys in all of their offices. The one in New York was cool, you went into a dimly lit closet that was lined floor to ceiling with old fashion telephones, if you picked up the right one, the wall opened revealing the speak easy and bar (with alcohol on tap)
That actually sounds really cool... lol
On my 4th glass!!! Congrats...
Worked at Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn. Can confirm. The only "tech" people that work at tech companies are essentially the coders/ engineers and you typically have 0 idea who those people are or have little to no access to them either.
Having worked in tech most of my career and being a product manager, this is pretty true on hiring with expansion.
AND that is EXACTLY what it is about...DATA ENGINEERS???? WHO THE HELL ARE THEY...TAKE DATA ANALYZE IT AND PUT IT INTO forms or something so the data ARCHITECT can make heads or tails of it and then give the working information to the programmer to program and IT'S HIS ASS ON THE LINE NOT THE OTHER BECAUSE THE LOWEST GUY ON THE TOTEM POLE GETS----SCREWED!!!
They start in government offices David.
