Stripping him of his board certification means he can no longer participate with certain insurances and prevents him from having hospital privileges, holding a department chair position, or having some other administrative role in many hospital systems. Although it's not removing his license, it cripples his practice. It's cruel, unnecessary, shameful, and sadistic.
With that said, in the long run, he's better off not having any connection with insurance companies or hospitals as the entire healthcare system is on its way to collapse.
