As much as I like that it backfires on libs I still would prefer no fact checks at all. Just neutral platform and delete only illegal stuff.
But it's not a fact check by some obscure arbiter of "truth", rather reader added context. I quite like it.
Yes and no... I think this feature helps to facilitate the conversation instead of just petty back and forth.
Plus, it was totally staged. They needed SOMETHING to help promote Twitter to the ones who realize that its all bs.
They chose something minor too. I would be slightly impressed if they started off with a fact check on covid jabs being "safe" or on the "most secure election in history".
Also, by doing this they are attempting to get buy-in and acceptance on being fact-checked.
