Christians have been programmed to judge outward appearances and lifestyles. This is so pedophiles can dress like them, act like them, get close to their children and violate them, pretend to be sad about it, beg forgiveness and often times repeat the cycle cause the pedo happens to be related to someone high up in the church.
You think I'm exaggerating. You're smashing that downvote button because I dare call out holy and correct religion for being the bastard that it is. And yes, I am aware Islam, Judaism- all the manmade constructs have their problems and that's my point: it's time to end tribalistic thinking and judge actions and individuals accordingly and more importantly it's time to call out the Christian church for the crimes it continues to cover up. I rail hard against Christianity because I used to be one and Jesus is very clear about the log and the speck. Christianity tries to pass judgement on all the other religions when it has a big fuckin log in its eye. But most importantly, we don't need the church. The church needs us. Just like the government claims we need it to survive, Christianity perpetuates similar lies that without church we won't survive. Wrong. We only need Jesus. And each of us follows Jesus is our business. If YOU feel you need the structure of church, great! I hope and pray you find a genuinely good one that isn't afraid to embrace and discuss the failures of Christianity as well as the successes.
Judge individuals by their actions. Not their labels or silly costumes. Be just as suspicious of people who claim follow Jesus and claim to have found all the answers as you are of Elon dressed up like he was on the 31st. The answer is not church. It's Jesus. We don't need anything beyond Him. The true Great Awakening is not just becoming aware of the evils of government, but also the roles the various churches and other religious institutions played in getting us to this point as well.
How people dress can absolutely be an indicator of what they're like. For example, if someone paints their hair neon blue, they're probably a massive leftist tool. Maybe not, but most likely.
Christianity didn't invent this, sorry.
And looks don't matter alone, but they can give indications. If a book has a giant penis on the cover, I'm going to judge that book. Maybe the book is based as fuck and the author is just weird, but it's absolutely a consideration.
Also, people are smashing the downvote button because you're attacking their religion for something it didn't do and for something that itself isn't even inherently bad.
Your individualistic, "you only need Jesus" view is not what the Bible says. It absolutely talks about coming together with others, not as a requirement, but certainly as something good to do. It also talks about preaching the truth to others, not "leaving them to their business".
And spare me the "fallible Bible" junk. If it's fallible, why believe anything about it/that it says? Including in Jesus? Humans are fallible and God preserved His word just like He said to ensure we had an objective faith, not a corrupted and fallible human one.
Well said. And hold those downvotes as a badge of honor - not being afraid to tell the truth. People who stand up for what's right are never popular. But genuine is better than popular.
