I think we counted all the votes by hand and used the telephone to call in the totals in 1950. It isn't impossible. People are always whining about how things can't be done now. Like we've become infants, unable to just sit down and get something done.
And that way, at a minimum, you wouldn't be able to have the total votes cast exceed the total number of registered voters in each precinct. It would be a start. Requiring voter id's to go with any ballot cast would then make it VERY difficult for any cheating to occur.

Yes, just do it by precinct. Then each precinct reports totals to the county board, who will then report to the state. This is not hard.

Exactly! Have it televised, youtubers with live streams (for example). Honest elections is what we want.
Now it just can't be done to get the outcome they want in a single day. It's really that simple.
