Faith Mountain is probably before your time. They were a catalog business selling mostly "country" items. She started out selling home crafted items at local festivals. I'm not talking about farmers' markets but local festivals hosted usually by local towns or cities. The streets are closed off and lined with vendors selling mostly home crafted items and food vendors.
Have you tried any of the Hawaiian skin care made with nut oils like macadamia and kukui nut? Also flower oils. Not local but my sister got me hooked on these after bringing me some back when she visited. Really good for any inflammation, which maybe would help your sensitivity. It helped me.
I wasn’t into essential oils & herbs when I went to Hawaii. That would have been great. I have 2.5 wooden boxes full of essential oils. I’m out of kukui nut oil, I think it helped with pain. It’s a great face oil. I don’t buy from Hawaii because I can’t find oils that have been tested for quality. I’ve tried macadamia, it’s been a long time ago. The oil market has exploded and there’s a lot of bad products in the market. Kukui & macadamia are considered carrier oils. You can apply safely to skin with out irritation. An oil like tea tree, frankincense, lemon, etc (lots of varieties) have to be mixed with a carrier oil (coconut, avocado, jojoba, argon, etc. It’s a lot to learn and so beneficial for your health needs.
If you get the chance try hemp oil. It’s great for so many things.
Raspberry seed oil & other fruit oils are good for skin & hair. Raspberry has spf qualities. You would need zinc with it for long term exposure. Great chat.
What I had was creams made with the oils. I only have one box of essential oils. LOL I use them to help with allergies and breathing, though, not skin. Amazon carries some of the Hawaiian creams, which is a lot cheaper than ordering from Hawaii. Yeah, I know, ordering from the evil empire. But I live in the boondocks and really have to use Amazon for things I'd have to drive 45 miles one way to buy. I won't use sunscreens that aren't zinc/titanium dioxide and I have to wear sunscreens - I don't tan, just burn. Good to know about raspberry oil. I haven't tried hemp oil but will - thanks for the tip.
I order from Amazon also. Since the plandimic I can’t find many things locally. Also I sure can’t find plant based cleaners and laundry detergent. If you ever want any small shop links just ask. I love essential oils for skin & everything else. I’m transitioning to products made with infused oils from plants. Both types of oils have benefits. I’m learning most people that make body products use infused oils they make with herbs they grow or forage.
Have you tried growing your own? I did for a while when a store about 75 miles from here, now out of business, had an unbelievable selection of such plants like comfrey, lemon balm, etc. I still have lemon balm growing from that garden. Lots of other things grow wild here.
