He's probably lying if G+C are what I think they are? If he's not lying though I want to see them be exonerated totally and celebrated ... or see justice. Need them healthy for either outcome.
But he could plausibly know they're sick -
Communication is monitored and recorded.
Presumably them being sick could be communicated that way.

No. I've never ever ever heard of that. I'm not an expert on detention facilities specifically however.
