I'm trying to take my son to the see the rally tomorrow in Dayton. What should I know? I applied for tickets and hopefully will get them today. What time should I head down if hes speaking at 8:00? Is 3:00 too late? If I need to pull him from school thats no problem. Can you bring food in line? Can you bring battery phone chargers in? What do they not let you bring? Any info or recommendations would be appreciated.

First thing to know is that all seating is first come first served. You need to be in line before 10 am to get a seat. When the gates open rush to the seating before using the porta potties and get a bracelet. Now get your seats and leave some stuff on them to save the seats. Once you have your bracelet you can come and go from seating area.
Bring some food and water for while you are in line. Phones and cameras are fine to bring in and a phone battery backup should be fine also. Vapes are not allowed but cigarettes are allowed, No lighters are allowed so matches if you bring cigarettes. They do not allow you to take food and drinks inside, but some snacks are fine like Slim Jims, beef jerky, gum, candy etc.
Camera bags or small backpacks are allowed but anything with a metal frame is not. If you want to bring a cooler or collapsible chair you can leave them at the gate and pick them up on the way out.
Thank you
Time depends on how close you want to be. I've been to three rallies and the one we got closest, we arrived 8 hours early. My best advice: GOOD SHOES. You'll be standing for a long time. Also, dress for the evening weather.
They'll search your purse, but they won't let you take in backpacks. My experience is food in line is fine. They're fine with cell phones, but I didn't test the battery charger issue, but would be surprised if they blocked them.
Don't know how old your son is so a lot will depend on how long he'll be okay with standing. The one I went to with my Mom and mother-in-law, we were standing for 12 hours before it was over. But none of us had any regrets and they're both in their 70s. It was great!
He's 16. He will be missing school and his first day of wrestling 2 a days. His coach will be pissed, but I'm the parent. I'll try and bring some folding collapsible chairs that I don't care about.
6 am, if you want a good seat and get in, not just in the overflow. 09:00 the latest.
I guess I should have been more patient lol. Just received this info in my email:

I've been to one rally. Arrived at 2 PM (doors at 4 PM) and was one of the last allowed inside. Only seats available were at the roof line in the balcony, and just a few of those. I felt very fortunate.
