The amount used in your phone or tablet is negligible compared to what goes into an EV battery. Not even close. The car battery thing is boondoggle on its own. They are no different than an iPhone battery. They don’t last and in a few years are 50% or less efficient. After 10 years, maybe less, they are junk and must be replaced. At that point, the battery costs more than the car is worth.
People need to see what’s happening here. They are attempting to make our cars like our phones. Useless after X amount of time, to be discarded for the new model. They know the batteries are worth more than the cars after 8-10 years. They know that makes the car essentially salvage. They are banking on it.
All of the other car manufacturers see the scam Tesla is doing, and are desperate to get the same scam going. They don’t want us driving diesel VWs or Toyota’s for 300k miles and 15 years. They want us buying cars like iPhones.
My single phone negligible yes. 10000 phones not so much.
Very strong comment here! I don't think regular people have figured this out. I think this should be it's own post tbh. I do believe that in a few years the market will catch on and the word will get out that the batteries don't last long enough and are too expensive to replace.
